I would advice you to check out the jetting, and do the 'gordons' mods, at least the snorkel and muffler. They do not come 'correctly' set up from the factory and can therefore be hard to start. I just used some thin zip ties to 'pull' the lever to the right position, i.e. I used the bracket that holds the decompress cable (yours has been removed). several times, and I'm sure following this exact advice would have saved me time and energy. I've had trouble starting after falls etc. Do you have an idea for the bracket, like a picture or something? Making a bracket of some sort sounds good. That's one thing that didn't seem quite right to me either.

It looks like I'll leave leave the manual decompression lever and cable off, unless at some point I REALLY think I need it.
